Customized Customer View Links

  • Pricing Tier: Platinum Basic +

  • Appointment Version: Single & Multiple

Need a way to preselect the options that end users see when scheduling? This guide will show you how to create customized links (aka Dedicated Links or Embedded Links) that can automatically select items such as Locations, Staff Members, and Services from the Customer View menus.

The terms used to create customized links may show differently in your account depending on your account configuration. You might refer to "Locations" as "Areas" or "Sites" for example.

Creating Custom Links

Links are customized by adding unique ID numbers for each item. You can create custom links using the ID numbers for Locations, Staff Members, Services, Rooms, and Events.

Please Note: Before you get started with creating customized links, please reach out to our Support team, by opening a ticket, or your account manager. Our team will ensure that the right settings are in place to support this functionality.

Location Links

Each Location in your account will automatically have a separate link generated using a unique Provider Code. To find the unique customer view link for each location:

  1. Select a Location from the drop-down list in Site Administration.

  2. Mouse over the Customer View link.

  3. Click on Preview.

  4. The custom link will then show the location you selected in step 1.

Note: Repeat this process to find the direct link for each account location.

Staff Member Links

  1. Click Staff Members.

  2. Click the Print icon to print the Staff Member list.

  3. Check the Last Name, First Name, Screen Name, and Staff Members ID (e_id), then select the Create List button.

  4. The report generated will show all of your Staff Members and the unique Staff Member ID (e_id) you can use for custom links.

  5. Combine the e_id number of a Staff Member with one of the custom location links by adding ?&e_id= and the e_id number to the end of the link.

This works for both Classic and NextGen Customer View applications.

Room Links

  1. Click Rooms.

  2. Mouse over the Room name.

  3. In the "Status Bar" of your web browser, locate the room_id number (If applicable, repeat steps 1-3 to find the id number for each Room).

    1. The status bar will usually display in the lower-left corner of your browser window and show you the address of the link.

  4. Combine the room_id number with one of the custom location links by adding ?&r_id= and the room_id number to the end of the link.

This works for both Classic and NextGen Customer View applications.

Service Links

  1. Click Services.

  2. Mouse over the Service name.

  3. In the "Status Bar" of your web browser, locate the service_id number (If applicable, repeat steps 1-3 to find the id number for each Service).

    1. The status bar will usually display in the lower-left corner of your browser window and show you the address of the link.

  4. Combine the service_id number with one of the custom location links by adding ?&service_id= and the service_id number to the end of the link.

This works for both Classic and NextGen Customer View applications.

Event Links

  1. Click Events.

  2. Mouse over the Event name.

  3. In the "Status Bar" of your web browser, locate the service_id number (If applicable, repeat steps 1-3 to find the id number for each event).

    1. The status bar will usually display in the lower-left corner of your browser window and show you the address of the link.

  4. Combine the event_service_id number with one of the custom location links by adding ?&event_service_id= and the service_id number to the end of the link.

This works for both Classic and NextGen Customer View applications.

NOTE: Custom links for Events will only work properly when using a drop-down list to show Events on the Customer View. To change your events list to a drop-down on the Customer View, click Settings, then click Events, locate Preference #2 and click the Yes option, then click the Update button to save changes.
