Can I prompt my Customers to pay when they are making Appointments?

  • ALL PRICING TIERS

  • APPOINTMENT VERSION: Single & Multiple

Yes, to activate this, do the following:

CLICK: Settings tab > Customer Payments

  1. There are four sections: Gift Certificates, Appointments, Packages, and POS. The Appointments section controls how Customers are prompted for payment on the Customer View.

    • The first preference is how you would like them to be prompted. The options are:

      • Another option is to set up your own merchant account through us. Payments post directly to your bank account. Contact Client Services for details.

      • PayPal. You'll need a PayPal account to use this option.

      • Prompt But Don't Process. This will prompt the customer to enter their credit card information, but it will not process the transaction. It will ensure that it's a valid card number and will store it in the customers profile. The credit card number then can be access via admin by looking up the customers information. This option is often used if a company wants customers to enter a credit card number to hold their appointment time.

      • Do Not Prompt. The Customer will not be prompted to enter payment information.

    • The second preference is where you would enter your login information.

    • The third preference allows you to give the Customers the option to pay.

    • The fourth preference lets you control whether or not Customers who already have a credit card number on file are prompted for payment information.

    • The fifth and sixth preferences allow you to choose to only prompt for payment on Events or Services.

  2. When you have made your selection, click the Update button at the bottom. Always be sure to log in as a customer and do a test to make sure you understand how it works and to make sure it's set up properly.

If you give them the option to pay, you can display custom text above the area on the Customer View that gives them the option. In this text you can give them more information about paying when they make the Appointment versus at the time of Service.

TIP:

This custom text can be entered by clicking on the Pages/Text button, then on the Option to Pay Instructions link.
